Professional Poker Player and Speaker Erik Seidel

photo, Erik Seidel Erik Seidel is one of the premier tournament players in the world. Erik Seidel's beginnings found him as a Wall Street stock broker before breaking onto the poker scene.

With his analytical mind, Erik Seidel first found a love for backgammon and began playing the game at a high level of competition. Erik then turned his focus onto poker and learned how to play in the famous Mayfair Club with the likes of Dan Harrington and Howard Lederer.

Erik Seidel made it to the Main Event final table in 1988, where he finished second to Johnny Chan in his very first tournament. The moment was immortalized in the movie "Rounders." Despite being derailed in his first attempt at a bracelet, Erik Seidel would win seven WSOP bracelets to join Johnny Moss and Billy Baxter in an elite group of players with at least seven bracelets.
